However, not everything surrounding the new ranked mode was good. The developer expected that some cheaters would appear out of nowhere and cause problems for the players who are just trying to fairly move their way up and down the ranks of the ranked mode leaderboard, and this was the case.

However, what was unexpected was how the cheaters were able to get around everything in the game. PUBG Corp. hoped that the recently introduced safety measures like verification using SMS and the like would be enough to prevent some of the cheaters from being active.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t as effective as the team was hoping for in update 7.2, so new and additional PUBG anti-cheat actions are necessary to make sure that the game is protected. The blog post detailed the first info regarding what these new measures are and how it will affect the game.

It all starts with the preliminary measures that are active at all times and will go into effect nearly as soon as the culprit is causing problems in the online matches. First off, players who use cheats in a match will encounter immediate countermeasures that will, hopefully, limit the impact on the other players.

How this will work is that the game will immediately ban those who are kicked from the game due to cheating in the match to try and stop them from cheating from that particular account. Also, if the game can recognize the cheat used, the cheater will be kicked from the match in the middle of it.

Kicking cheaters from matches while they are cheating is relatively new to the game, but has already been implemented. If you are reading this right now, some cheaters will be kicked from matches immediately as soon as they begin cheating, which is awesome.

Beyond the preliminary measures that are there to immediately help the community and players by directly enforcing rules and bans in real-time, some post measures will help after the fact. These are on the way in the future and will help with preventing further actions from the cheaters out there.

After all, cheaters are known to find ways, even with new features and changes, to get around the systems that are designed to stop them in the first place, so these post measures will help detect and prevent them from committing further acts after the fact.

The results that players have at the top of the leaderboard will be actively investigated for anything that seems out of the ordinary. This even includes past results, in case there is a chance that it could prove that this has been going on for some time.

One thing in these post measures active right now is the fact that banned players will not be able to have their names listed on the leaderboard. All banned players should be removed from the list, making sure that they aren’t getting credit for the cheating they did.

These include increased ban durations and making it more difficult to enter the ranked mode, so that new cheater accounts aren’t able to just jump right in and cheat.
